Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine at QUB brings together world-class researchers in the fields of immunology, microbiology, molecular and cell biology and respiratory medicine to understand the mechanisms of disease and to develop innovative new treatments and therapies to improve patient outcomes. The Northern Ireland Regional Severe Asthma Service is embedded in the institute and facilitates access to large numbers of well-characterised patients with severe asthma.
Role within 3TR
QUB is participant in WP2 “Qualitiy Control and Ethics” and WP8 “COPD/Asthma”. Professor Liam Heaney is Professor of Respiratory Medicine/Consultant Physician with expertise in difficult to manage and severe asthma.
