The Computational Systems Biomedicine Research Group drives the research in applying computational methodologies to the field of biomedicine inside the Department of Drug Sciences at University of Catania.
Role within 3TR
UNICAT’s role is the development of a computational model of the immune system in individuals, which is personalised by genome and immune cell transcriptome analyses using the computational modelling infrastructure UISS (Universal Immune System Simulator). This system will be extended to include the most important mechanisms involved in autoimmune diseases.
