PhD student from the University of Southampton successfully defends her thesis in the framework of 3TR
Anna Rattu, research fellow from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, has successfully defended her PhD thesis, which was funded by 3TR. In her doctoral research supervised by Professor Graham Roberts and Professor Ratko Djukanovic, she conducted a systematic review in collaboration with 3TR stakeholders to identify ‘priority’ outcome measures for severe asthma. The findings from this review informed the development of a core outcome measurement set. She also developed a prototype Quality of Life outcome measure for paediatric severe asthma, which will be a valuable tool for future clinical trials. Another systematic review she led found consistent evidence for high blood eosinophil counts and FeNO levels as predictors of response to dupilumab, providing insights for biologic selection in practice. Collectively, her doctoral research advanced the 3TR goal of personalised medicine for severe asthma. Congrats to Anna for her amazing work!
